Got my Power FC to work and tuned. Frustrated that on my drive home and get knock warning at WOT, fail again by the tuner who I will never use again. Power FC doesn't retard timing it has no protection for knock other than warning you. Local RX7 rotary builder tunes Power FC going to contact him or just retard timing myself and see if that eliminated knock. I actually heard pinging so it's not a false alarm by the Power FC.
Ordered a water temp, oil temp, and oil pressure gauge plus pod and the adapter that goes before the fuel filter to get the oil readings. Going to install that this weekend.
Light switch that broke melted part of the harness. Fortunately the new light switch still works despite that.
Next up going to try to fix bouncy speedo, which is causing HICAS warning. Put some grease on the speedo cable which fixed it's sticking now it's just ridiculously bouncy instead.
Looking to buy someone's used FC Datalogit right now if anyone has one.
I'm probably going to that Nissan Jam in SOCAL this summer. Anyone going?

I know you probably get a lot of this if you mention having an R32 in the U.S., but where did you get your Skyline? I tried looking through all of your past posts, but that's a lot of stuff, hahaha! I'm looking to import one myself in the next year or so, and I've been following Doug DeMuro's saga for his car, but since you already have one, how did you go about it?

pacific coast jdm is the easiest place to use if you are on a budget. Doug's method is going to be much more expensive and involved.
The pacific coast guy takes care of all paperwork and you bid on auction cars. It was easy and got it to my door for less than $7000.
This car is a GTS-T which is why it wasn't very expensive.
Basically this car gets a ton of attention. A ton of people come around it at any import or even classic car shows, people wave to me on the street, it's like i'm driving a Ferrari or something lol. If you don't want that so much there are other cars that are capable of more power for less money and have a cheaper initial price. GTS-T skylines have turbos that are a serious bottleneck. I have 240whp as it sits now modded and it's as far as I can go without a turbo swap. If I had a SR20DET car like a Bluebird SSS Attesa (like a AWD Nissan Stanza), Pulsar GTIR (AWD hot hatch with modern STI or EVOX power to weight stock at 230hp can be modded to >330whp easily), or Silvia I would be >300whp for the amount of money i've spent so far and the car would have cost like $2000 less. There are other cars as cheap from other companies that make >300whp with a tune as well if you are interested I can provide a list.

Thanks man, I appreciate the info! I'm on the East Coast, so I'd have to factor in shipping too, but still, that sounds like a great deal. And I know the GTS-T is way cheaper than a GTR. I just love the R32 body style, so I'd probably start off with that and then upgrade to a GTR later down the road once I could afford it. I just really want a Skyline period. Although I'm not desperate enough to stoop to the level of buying an Infiniti G35, replacing all the badges with Nissan and Skyline and GT350 badges and saying it's a V35 Skyline like someone around where I live has done....
Any hey, you can always swap an RB26 in to the GTS-T... :P

If you have a customs broker that will hold the car for a delivery company that ships multiple cars on a budget you could probably get it shipped to your house for like $1000 or something like that. It cost me $650 but I did a single car next day shipping and i'm on west coast

If you don't want to go through the bidding process and want to take your time looking over a car, check out www.jdm-expo.com . Shipping from them can be $1200 or less, but you'll handle all the import paperwork yourself which isn't too bad. They have an agent in Florida who can do all the paperwork for you for a few hundred. If you do the paperwork yourself I think they can ship to VA and NY as well.
